Good Samaritan Center

Although  a humble building in appearance, the ministry that it shelters offers blessings in the form of food, clothing, and caring volunteers. The Good Samaritan Center works closely with Compassion Coalition to ensure the best of care for their clients.

The Food Pantry is open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 3:30 PM.  ID is required since we do also have USDA foods. Special food is provided at Thanksgiving and Christmas for guests to take home and prepare. For Thanksgiving a banquet is prepared for everyone.

 

There is no charge for any food service.

As Jesus has commanded us to care for those less fortunate then us, we as a church have made an effort to assist where possible. To that end we have joined a community wide effort to address these issues. Through a fellowship of churches and non profits known as Compassion Coalition, we have been able to meet the needs of people who need it the most. Some of those services are through social services such as tutoring and mentoring programs, Youth Volunteer Corps, health screening education and assistance, inner city missions, and disaster response, among other things. COMPASSION COALITION  is a faith-based nonprofit in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Coalition currently consists of 231 churches in Knox County Tennessee that are committed to moving beyond the walls of our church buildings to be the compassionate presence of Christ in the midst of the poverty, pain, and brokenness of our community. This ministry is not aligned with any specific church or denomination, but has a distinct Kingdom focus. Knoxville First Seventh-day Adventist Church is a participant in this outreach.
